Mountain Measurement is looking for a Qualitative Evaluation Methods Facilitator

Mountain Measurement is looking for an experienced nurse educator to co-facilitate a 3-hour, web-based course entitled “320 - Designing and Conducting Program Evaluation Studies.” This course is the second course in the Program Evaluation Series of the Mountain Measurement Professional Development Courses and will be delivered the first week in June 2023. Applicants must have extensive program evaluation experience in nursing pre-licensure education with an emphasis on qualitative methods. An honorarium is provided to the facilitator.

Purpose

The goal of 450 - Constructing, Administering, Scoring & Evaluating Assessments for Nursing Education is to prepare nursing educators to construct, publish, administer, score, and evaluate assessments in nursing.

Learning Outcomes

The objectives of the course are as follows. Upon course completion, participants will be able to:

  • Follow a test blueprint.
  • Construct a test to maximize validity, reliability, precision, and fairness.
  • Publish a highly usable test.
  • Administer a fair test that minimizes cheating potential and optimizes student performances.
  • Score a test to produce valid, reliable, and usable scores.
  • Provide useful feedback to students about their performance on a test.
  • Evaluate the validity, reliability, precision, and fairness of a test.

Mountain Measurement is pleased to offer continuing education contact hours for the Professional Development Assessment Series courses (ABNP1516 Exp: 2/4/2025). The goal of 440 - Developing Clinical Decision Making Questions for Next Gen NCLEX® is to prepare nurse educators to develop test content to assess clinical decision making skills.

Learning Outcomes

The objectives of the course are as follows. Upon course completion, participants will be able to:

  • Develop clinical decision making items using traditional item types.
  • Describe the item types used by NCSBN on the next generation NCLEX®.
  • Identify alternative item types to NCSBN's next generation NCELX® which may successfully assess clinical decision making.
  • Develop clinical decision making items using alternative item types.
  • Describe the scoring rubrics used by NCSBN on the nest generation NCLEX®.
  • Develop scoring rubrics for alternative item types.

Register now for the Winter 2023 Professional Development Courses - Assessment Series

Mountain Measurement, Inc. is pleased to announce that the Assessment Series of the NCLEX® Program Reports Professional Development Courses will be offered this coming winter. The Assessment Series is intended to provide educators and administrators with the knowledge, skills and attitudes needed to design, develop, publish, administer and evaluate assessments for nursing students. Nursing faculty members and administrators are invited to participate.

The Assessment Series curriculum has changed and interested educators are encouraged to review the course syllabi before registering. As part of the updated curriculum, Mountain Measurement is pleased to offer a brand new course, 440 - Developing Clinical Decision Making Questions for Next Generation NCLEX®, which is designed to be taken following the completion of 430 - Writing Nursing Test Questions. The 430 course is not a prerequisite for the 440 course and experienced item writers may opt out of the 430 course.
