This synchronous web-based course is for all nursing educators who construct, publish, administer, score, and evaluate assessments.
Purpose
The purpose of this course is to prepare educators to construct, publish, administer, score, and evaluate assessments in nursing education.
Learning Outcomes
The objectives of the course are as follows. Upon course completion, participants will be able to:
- Follow a test blueprint.
- Construct a test to maximize validity, reliability, precision, and fairness.
- Publish a highly usable test.
- Administer a fair test that minimizes cheating potential and optimizes student performance.
- Score a test to produce valid, reliable, and usable scores.
- Provide useful feedback to students about their performance on a test.
Format
The 450 Course contains 3 hours of instruction, discussion, and learning activities, 30 minutes of Q&A, a 30-minute break, and a 30-minute assessment.
Continuing Education
4.5 contact hours are awarded through the Alabama Board of Nursing (Provider Number ABNP1516 Expires 2/4/2025) to all individuals completing the course.
