345 - Developing a Plan for Systematic Program Evaluation

This is the fifth course offered as part of the Program Evaluation Series. The Program Evaluation Series is intended to provide educators and administrators with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes to participate in and lead program evaluation activities at their organization.

Prerequisites and Target Audience

There are no prerequisites to attend this course. This web-based course is intended for educators & administrators with at least 3 years of experience participating in program evaluation

Purpose

The purpose of this course is to prepare educators and administrators to develop or update their program's plan for systematic program evaluation and to incorporate the NCLEX Program Reports into that plan.

Learning Outcomes

Upon course completion, participants will:

  • Describe the systematic program evaluation process
  • Describe the roles, responsibilities and needs of the stakeholders involved in systematic program evaluation
  • Describe the fundamental aspects of a systematic plan of program evaluation
  • Describe the methodology for a systematic plan of program evaluation
  • Define program success criteria and program outcomes
  • Facilitate a culture of program evaluation

Format

Course 345 is delivered as a 3-hour synchronous, web-based experience which includes a 2.5 hour lecture and a 30-minute Question and Answer session. Participants are expected to independently complete a 30-minute end-of-course assessment immediately after the course concludes.

Materials

All participants are asked to have a copy of their Systematic Plan of Evaluation, ACEN standards and criteria, CCNE standards for accreditation of baccalaureate and graduate nursing programs and CNEA Accreditation Standards. Participants should make sure they have access to their NCLEX® Program Reports.

Continuing Education

3.5 contact hours are awarded through the Alabama Board of Nursing (Provider Number ABNP1516 Expires 2/4/2025) to all individuals completing the course and the end-of-course assessment. Educators that have completed 330 - "Developing a Systematic Plan of Evaluation or Continuous Plan of Improvement that integrates the NCLEX® Program Reports" will only receive half credit for courses 345 and 355.
