335 - Evaluating Student Engagement

This is the third course offered as part of the Program Evaluation Series. The Program Evaluation Series is intended to provide educators and administrators with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes to participate in and lead program evaluation activities at their organization.

Prerequisites and Target Audience

There are no prerequisites to attend this course. The first part of this course is targeted to educators new to evaluating student engagement. The second part of this course is targeted to educators interested in leveraging LMS technology to evaluate student engagement.

Purpose

The purpose of the course is to prepare educators to evaluate student engagement as part of their course and program evaluation activities.

Upon course completion, participants will be able to:

  • Evaluate an individual student’s level of engagement in a learning activity
  • Evaluate an individual student’s level of engagement in a course
  • Evaluate student engagement for a course
  • Evaluate student engagement for a program

Format

Course 335 is delivered as a 3-hour synchronous, web-based experience which includes a 2.5 hour lecture and a 30-minute Question and Answer session. Participants are expected to independently complete a 30-minute end-of-course assessment immediately after the course concludes.

Continuing Education

3.5 contact hours are awarded through the Alabama Board of Nursing (Provider Number ABNP1516 Expires 2/4/2025) to all individuals completing the course and the end-of-course assessment.
