405 - Evaluating a Test using Psychometrics
Prerequisites and Target Audience
There are no prerequisites to attend this seminar.
This web-based seminar is for all nursing educators who participate in test evaluation.
Purpose
The purpose of this course is to train nursing educators on evaluating a test using statistics and measurement standards
Learning Outcomes
The objectives of the course are as follows. Upon seminar completion, participants will be able to:
- Evaluate if a test is measuring what is intended.
- Determine if a test meets required statistical criteria.
- Ensure that a test is administered according to specified criteria and meets standards for fairness including ADA.
- Determine if a test is scored according to criteria.
- Ensure scoring rubrics for performance tests are valid and scoring is fair for all participants.
- Provide understandable and reliable feedback on test results.
Format
The NCLEX® Program Reports 405 Seminar contains 3 hours of lecture, discussion, and learning activities. Participants are expected to independently complete a 30-minute end-of-course assessment immediately after the seminar concludes.
Continuing Education
3.5 contact hours are awarded through the Alabama Board of Nursing (Provider Number ABNP1516 Expires 1/31/2021) to all individuals completing the seminar and the end-of-course assessment.
